Before You Ask

As we continue refurbishing the restaurant and transforming it into a church and we’ve had some interesting visitors drop by. A few days ago a woman stopped in to tell us that her prayer group began praying about the facility when the restaurant closed two years ago. “I just wanted you to know that we were praying that a Christian business would come into this building.” Tell me the Lord doesn’t plan ahead. We’ve only been a church body for one year…two years ago none of us even knew we needed a building. “…for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matt 6:8b NIV

Gail;

-----Science is not as stuck on empirical observation as it is stuck on matter. If it can not feel it, touch it, taste it, smell it, hear it, or see it, or if it can not be calculated from measuring something that can be felt, touched, tasted, smelled, heard, or seen, then it does not exist. Or so they profess. But they are badly inconsistent. Measuring events amongst people is little different from measuring events amongst the stars or in particle accelerators. The little difference is that the events in the stars and lab equipment etch evidence onto a record that can be seen. But events amongst people only etch evidence into memories, and the arrogance of the scientist denies the memories of his neighbor.
-----Here you have evidence of God’s existence etched upon the memories of His people. They know and believe He exists because they are humble enough to receive testimony from each other. God is wise enough to record the evidence of His existence in the history of His people where only the humble are willing to look. This simple little antidote is just as empirical as was Newton’s apple falling from a tree. And like the dropping apple, all it needs is a moment of thought to know what is really happening.

Love you all,
