Tomorrow

Colorado Governor Ritter was one of the speakers at the funeral for our police officer who was shot in the line of duty. Speaking about all those who’ve sworn to serve and protect the Governor said, “The day after the Sgt. David Kinterknecht was killed, men and women across Colorado woke up, put on their uniform and went to work.” I think this same message is applicable for believers. We may be struggling, weary or grieving, but with each new day it’s the Lord’s desire that we get up, put on our armor and follow Him.

Gail;

-----The foundation of the heaven and earth that will not pass away is the holiness and righteousness, the love and peace of God’s character created as the plan for this physical realm’s existence. Although Satan was able to jar the heavens and earth from its foundation by tricking Eve and Adam, the foundation itself remains. The hope of the new heaven and earth resting upon the same foundation, without the presence of Satan, and the joy of having spiritually entered the nature of that new place through Christ’s regenerative work is why we suit up in the armor. For while he yet roams about this corrupted realm in which we must shortly continue to live, we need both protection from its dangers and weapons to hold at bay its powers. We follow Him not only to be preserved from the impending destruction of what has been jarred from the foundation, but also to salt it with the attractive flavor of eternal possibilities, the call for others to put on the armor, as well.
-----As we see the present world system descending faster and deeper into darkness, it becomes even more imperative that we understand the offensive function of the armor. We are responsible for how much truth, righteousness, and knowledge of God through Christ can be seen in a world gone insane with idolatry, paganism, and denial of godliness. The need to take strong hold of the Sword and make proficient use of it has never been greater, and the paths on which we must run to effectively wield it have never been more strewn with sharp rocks and thorns. We must hold our faith before us and advance down the path as the unrelenting darkness falls upon others. Although we are not able to dispel the darkness, we can shine in it enough for them to find their armor too.

Love you all,
Steve Corey
