Global Warming
It’s fascinating and surprising to me that Global Warming is finding a platform in the church. One has to wonder if saving the planet is taking a priority over saving souls. Scripture states clearly that God controls the elements, yet it’s suggested that humans, by changing their lifestyle, could intervene and fix God’s problem of Global Warming. Personally, I think Global Warming is God just ‘turning up the heat’ in preparation for what’s to come. “By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.” (2 Peter 3:7 NIV)

Gail;
----Global warming should have been in the church ever since it has been brought up as an issue, but not as it has been drug into the church recently. It is Rick Warren who is dragging the global warming issue around like it is an issue for Christians to somehow resolve. But, of course, Christians can not resolve the global warming thing any more than can politicians, countries, or the combined efforts of the entire world. From an ulterior perspective, though, solution of the issue is not why it is in the church. It is in the church for the same reason contemporary music rules in the church - it is pop. And pop rules in the contemporary church. Whatever draws the crowd!
----It is so sad that the up front and straight forward handling of Global Warming has not played in the churches to date. Man has caused Global Warming, he is solely responsible. But he can do nothing more about it than he can do about his action of disobedience in the Garden that caused it. Global Warming's fix must await the return of Jesus.
