Catching Up

When I come home from a trip, even a short trip, it can take days to get caught up on the mail, newspapers and laundry. I think when we’ve distanced ourselves from the Lord (or from the church for that matter) for any length of time, we also have some catching up to do. Although it’s easy to fall back into the waiting arms of the Lord, we’re still faced with re-establishing that personal relationship. We rarely pick up where we left off in the relationship…and I find that exciting. It’s often that catching up that opens our eyes and gives us a better perspective of God’s will.

Gail;
-----Let’s talk about catching up for a minute. The Democrats have been out of direct control of the Federal Government from 2001 through 2006. Although they have always been able to retain indirect control through a deceitful left-wing media and entertainment system, they have been doing a lot of catching up since regaining nearly full control again in 2007. A little over a month ago something stirred to action in the belly of America and ripped its way into the open like one of the Alien’s bloody little brood, having been implanted there by the liberal socialist mothers of the past, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, their left-wing judge appointees, and the army of attorneys it took to sue financial institutions into making loans to minorities and other paupers who had no ability to pay them back. What event could it have been that caused the principals at Lehman Bros. to wake up the one morning they did, just weeks away from the most important election in American History, precisely when Barrack Hussein Obama was slipping badly in the poles yet promising change? I honestly believe this financial mess was being held in the liberal’s back pocket until after BHO won the election. But the near demise of his campaign effort was calling it forth early.
-----These men in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are college graduates. So are the attorneys who sued the way for bad mortgages to collect into many private institutions. So were the principals in those private institutions who seized the opportunity to make multitudes of sub-prime loans, then sell them to Mae and Mac. All these men knew bad assets will set a financial institution crosswise with Federal regulation. Yet they all “stumbled” into this? I don’t think so.
-----The left-wing democrats for many decades have been crying out for true blue socialism. But their cakewalk towards enslaving us to their socialist programs was put on hold by what grew out of Ronald Regan’s brilliant repeal of the radio fairness doctrine. Within a few short years, Rush Limbaugh was a household name, the shenanigans of Washington liberals were exposed, and Republicans were in a somewhat sheltering control. But just as marshmallows would have done David no good whatsoever against Goliath, these marshmallow Republicans did no more good in eliminating the left-wing socialist threat of the Democrat party and its rabid MoveOn.Org supporters. The same Republican marshmallows cowed before a media ever sharpening its deceitful skills in the back pocket of the Democrat party and deceiving America into giving Congressional control back to liberals.
-----Now, halfway to their heaven of total control, after a six year hiatus, the Democrats have a lot of catching up to do. And I get the feeling this catch up will be major, devastating, and permanent. I would have stood in utter disbelief when I heard the truth about “affordable housing,” Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and ACORN if I had not been so observant of liberal strategies over the past few decades. These people are patient, determined, and plotting. The chatter I heard during the mid-90’s regarding heavy taxation of retirement account assets is suddenly back amidst a Democrat controlled Congress facing a possible Democrat administration given power after promising change for America. Now they are talking of making those retirement accounts a part of the social security system! Watching 790 billion dollars made available to some plan called a “bail out” be followed by the legislation of another 350 billion dollars just this week for the same purpose, while the very Congressional leaders whose policies destroyed the mortgage institution blame Capitalism for the whole crisis all but assures me that the catching up being done is to an extreme socialism that the American public will be powerless to avoid. Knowing President Bush has called a G9 summit for after the election, to which the new President elect is invited, convinces me the whole thing may be a sealed deal.
-----But the ever darkening sky above our vanishing personal freedom reminds me of the story I am sure I’ve related to you before. When my Mother used to live in a cockroach infested little apartment, she had her own way of dealing with the vermin. Late at night she would lay a small pile of bread crumbs in the middle of the cleaned-off counter. With a rolled-up newspaper in hand, she would turn out the lights. Having waited a few moments while they all assembled at the bread crumbs under the cover of the darkness they loved, to their dismay, she would like lightning switch on the light and serve up the carnage. In a similar way Jesus is going to turn out the lights on this world for the assemblage of the darkness loving vermin to their crumbs of doom. So if certain political types feel they are ready to catch up on their contrivances, I say to the good Lord Jesus, “Bring it on, Lord, bring it on.”

Love,
Steve Corey
