Thanksgiving

Jesus broke the bread, took the cup…and gave thanks.

Gail;

-----We are incredibly blessed in this country. Food, shelter, transportation, enough of everything we need to live is at our fingertips for a comfortable amount of often enjoyable work. And if one does not feel that is enough, with some focus and dedication there are many opportunities to earn more. I thank God for all of that. I also thank Him that we are not required to feel guilty for what He has given us, “For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving; for then it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer,” (I Tim 4:4), of course remembering that wealth given by God is matched by His expectation of generosity, “But if any one has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?” (I John 3:17) I think it is fitting that the season focused on thanksgiving is shortly followed by the season focused on generosity.
