In Danger

President Trump has a lot of enemies who use fake news to undermine his presidency — politicians from both parties, the media and members of his administration. As people of faith we’d like to think such situations would never happen in the church because we all speak the truth in love. However, Paul’s discourse on what he has suffered for the cause of Christ is a reminder that whether we are on the mission field, or in the mainstream church, there are false brothers amongst us. Paul said, “I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers” (2 Cor 11:26 NIV).
