My local elected
officials, community board members and church leadership continue to vote unanimously
on every issue. It’s as though they feel they will not be held accountable as
individuals when their vote is unanimous. From my perspective there is a lack
of integrity when a person fails to vote their conscious, but rather goes along
with the flow. People of faith within these groups seem to forget that they will
stand alone before God’s judgment. Paul said, “So then, each of us will give an
account of himself to God” (Ro 14:12 NIV).
